Clearer thinking and better sleep, measured twice

Kalyani* came for more than her gut. She wanted mental clarity, energy, better mood and hormone balance. We measured her before she began and again partway through her first course, and she chose to continue.

The journey

Tested before, tested again

Test 1

Aug 2025. Gut report with stool and blood analysis, plus a symptom survey.

Course 1

Began when her first kit was dispatched in late Oct 2025. A seeding blend, then a digestion-balance blend, every month.

Test 2

Dec 2025. The same kind of stool and blood panel and the same survey, to see what changed.

Course 2

Three more months. A wider plan: metabolic support, immune balance and digestion.

The starting point

Brain fog, poor sleep and a gut that was not at ease

Kalyani was post-menopausal and active, practising yoga and eating fruit and vegetables daily. On her intake survey she rated brain fog 4 out of 5 and trouble sleeping 4 out of 5, with low mood, forgetfulness and joint stiffness close behind. She also reported frequent gas (4 out of 5) and bloating after meals (3 out of 5). She took no supplements. She asked for help with gut healing, mental clarity, energy and mood, hormones and skin.

What went in, and why

A gut-first plan for a gut-and-brain problem

Course 1 · weeks 1 to 2 of each month

Frequent gas and bloating pointed to fermentation in the gut, which is also a common thread with foggy thinking and broken sleep through the gut-brain axis. So we began with a probiotic-led seeding blend of L. acidophilus, B. lactis and B. bifidum (9 billion CFU in total). To support these strains we added two prebiotics, fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) and acacia fibre (750 mg together), both of which bifidobacteria and lactobacilli feed on.

Course 1 · weeks 3 to 4 of each month

The second half of each month used B. bifidum, L. plantarum, L. reuteri and B. breve (9 billion CFU in total), with digestive enzymes (amylase, protease and lipase) to ease the load of gas-forming food. Inulin (300 mg) fed these strains. Strains from this group, including L. plantarum and B. breve, have been studied for stress, mood and gut-brain signalling.

What we observed: at Test 2 she rated brain fog and sleep trouble both 1 out of 5, down from 4 out of 5.

Course 2

After Test 2 we kept the same foundation for a month and then widened the plan: a blend with L. rhamnosus GG, B. breve and S. boulardii with an oligosaccharide fibre and stress-adaptive herbs for metabolic support, an immune-balance blend with curcumin, vitamin C and zinc, and finally a blend with digestive enzymes.

Before and after

How each symptom changed

Severity score from the symptom survey: 1 = never, 5 = always. Lower is better, except where marked. Each chart uses the same scale.

Relief after passing stool, the last chart, is the one score where higher is better, and it rose from 3 to 4 out of 5. Her experience rating stayed at 5 out of 5 at both points, and when asked what brought her back she wrote that she felt the treatment was not yet complete, so she renewed for a second three months.

What we saw

The evidence

The clearest shifts were in the areas she cared about most. Brain fog and sleep trouble both fell from 4 to 1 out of 5, and mood, memory and menopause-linked tiredness each improved by a point. Across the six mind, sleep and mood questions her average score halved, from 3.3 to 1.7. These are self-rated scores from a single participant over her first course with no control group, so we treat them as an early signal rather than proof.
